My Road to $10,000 a Month (Week 19)
I was busy trying out some new things this third week of September — some of which with surprisingly good results that earned me income and a couple of projects.
Here’s the breakdown:
|Amount Earned ($)||Amount Earned ($)|
SEPTEMBER 2020 WEEK 18 (16 September to 22 September)
At the start of this week I wasn’t getting any projects, which prompted me to do things differently. For one, I decided to participate in a graphic design challenge. A freelance marketplace called Gigworks organized the challenge to color their ‘9.19’ logo; the winner gets $200 in cash — and I won! It made me realize how fun competitions can be, and I will be participating in more of them from now.
Similarly, I wanted to participate in a local design competition, but wasn’t able to since it was only open to amateurs and students. I created a submission all the same and shared it on my local subreddit — the interest was beyond my expectations. As a result a few clients reached out to me for projects.
That concludes the nineteenth week of my road to $10,000 a month as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. My participation in a couple of design competitions helped to increase my earnings for this week.
